Simply Sauteed Spinach

Trying to recreate those delicious veggie sides at your favourite steak house? Or tired of eating your plain old spinach just because it’s good for you but you really just want to gag?

Here’s a healthy recipe to sauteed your spinach without drenching it in oil and still keeping it healthy and flavourful!

What you need:

  • 1 package of baby spinach (or more if you like. You how spinach is. Once cooked it shrivels into nothingness!)
  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tbsp bragg 0 calorie soy sauce (see my list of preferred foods here)image
  • 3 cloves diced garlic
  • fingernail sized ginger, diced
  • 1/8 cup diced red onion
  • sea salt to taste

What to do:

  • sautee the ginger, garlic, and onions in half of the oil until they are golden but not burnt, approx 2-3 minutes
  • turn down the stove to medium heat and throw in the spinach
  • start mixing everything and as spinach starts to cook, drizzle on the rest of the oil
  • add soy sauce and salt to taste and continue to mix until cooked. Shouldn’t be more than another 5 minutes or so

Enjoy!
